BRAKE SERVICES
Mobile Brake Repair & Replacement in San Jose
Brakes are the most important system on your car — and one of the most over-charged-for at traditional shops. We replace pads, rotors, calipers, and brake fluid at your home or office, using quality OEM-equivalent parts at honest prices.

Your Most Critical Safety System Deserves Honest Work
Brake work is one of the easiest places for a shop to add unnecessary line items — “machining” rotors that should be replaced, replacing hardware that doesn’t need it, recommending fluid flushes that aren’t due. We do the opposite. We inspect your entire braking system, photograph what we find, and recommend only what your specific vehicle needs.
Most brake jobs we handle take 90 minutes to 2 hours and are completed in your driveway. You’ll know the condition of every component — pads, rotors, calipers, hardware, lines, and fluid — and you’ll have a clear picture of what’s safe for the next 20,000 miles versus what needs attention today.

When Your Brakes Are Telling You Something
Brake symptoms almost never go away on their own. The longer you wait, the more expensive the repair gets.
Squealing or Grinding
A high-pitched squeal usually means your wear indicator is contacting the rotor — pads are nearly done. Grinding means metal on metal and rotor damage.
Pulsation in the Pedal
If the pedal pulses or the steering wheel shakes when braking from highway speed, your rotors are warped or unevenly worn and need replacement.
Soft or Spongy Pedal
A pedal that sinks toward the floor means air or moisture in the brake fluid, a leaking line, or a failing master cylinder. This is urgent.
Pulling to One Side
If the car pulls when you brake, you likely have a stuck caliper, uneven pad wear, or a contaminated rotor. Easy to diagnose and fix.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do brake pads typically last?
Anywhere from 25,000 to 70,000 miles depending on the vehicle, pad compound, and how you drive. Bay Area stop-and-go traffic and hilly terrain wear pads faster than highway driving.
Do I really need new rotors, or can the old ones be machined?
For most modern vehicles, rotor replacement is more cost-effective than machining — and machining requires equipment we don’t bring on-site. We’ll measure your rotors and recommend honestly. If they’re within spec and have plenty of material, you may not need either.
Do you use OEM pads or aftermarket?
We use OEM-equivalent pads from major brands (Akebono, Brembo, Bosch, Centric, Wagner) by default. We’ll match the OEM compound — ceramic, semi-metallic, or low-dust depending on what your vehicle came with.
Is brake fluid really worth flushing?
Yes. Brake fluid absorbs water from the air, which lowers its boiling point and corrodes ABS components. Most manufacturers recommend flushing every 2–3 years. It’s cheap insurance for a $1,500+ ABS module.
How much does mobile brake service cost?
Typical brake pad replacement runs $200–$400 per axle depending on the vehicle. Pad and rotor replacement together is usually $400–$700 per axle. We provide a firm quote before we arrive — no hidden trip fees, no surprise add-ons.
Can you do brakes on European cars?
Yes. We service BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, VW, and Volvo brakes regularly. We use the correct OEM-spec pads for each vehicle and reset any electronic parking brake systems that require it.
