Why Mobile Suspension Repair Beats the Shop
Suspension wear is gradual, which is why most drivers don’t notice how bad it’s gotten until something else fails because of it. Bad shocks bounce your tires off the road during cornering and braking. Worn ball joints and bushings let your alignment drift, chewing through expensive tires in 15,000 miles instead of 50,000. Wearing tie rods turn highway driving into a wandering, exhausting experience.
The good news: we can perform most mobile suspension repair work in your driveway with the right tools. We carry the spring compressors, ball joint presses, and torque equipment needed to do the job safely and to factory spec. When an alignment is needed afterward, we’ll point you to a partner shop we trust.

Signs You Need Suspension Repair
If your car is doing any of the following, your suspension is past due — and ignoring it costs you money in tires and stopping distance.
Rough or Bouncy Ride
If your car continues bouncing after a bump or feels every imperfection in the road, your shocks or struts are worn out. The bounce test is the simplest check — push down on a corner; it should rebound once and stop.
Clunking Over Bumps
Clunking, knocking, or popping noises over speed bumps and potholes usually mean worn ball joints, sway bar links, or strut mounts. Most of these are quick on-site fixes.
Uneven Tire Wear
Cupping, feathering, or inside/outside edge wear on your tires almost always points to a suspension issue — which means you’re throwing tires away early.
Steering Wander or Pull
If you’re constantly making small steering corrections to keep the car straight, your tie rods, bushings, or alignment are off. This gets dangerous at highway speeds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can shocks and struts really be replaced in a driveway?
Yes — for the vast majority of vehicles. Strut assemblies pre-loaded with the spring are now a common replacement part and don’t require a spring compressor. For loaded struts where compression is needed, we bring the right equipment.
Will I need an alignment after mobile suspension repair?
If we replace tie rods, control arms, or anything that changes the geometry of your front end — yes. We don’t do alignments on-site since they require a rack, but we partner with shops we trust and can coordinate the appointment for you.
How long do shocks and struts last?
Typically 50,000 to 80,000 miles, though it varies by vehicle and driving conditions. Once you’re past 75k, it’s worth having them inspected even if nothing seems wrong. Wear is gradual and easy to miss.
How much does mobile suspension repair cost?
Pricing depends on which components need replacement and your vehicle. As a reference, front strut replacement typically runs $400 to $800 per side, and control arm replacement runs $300 to $600 per side. We always provide a firm, itemized quote before starting any work.
Is it safe to drive with worn suspension?
It depends on what’s worn. Tired shocks are uncomfortable but not immediately dangerous. Worn ball joints, tie rod ends, or control arm bushings, however, can fail suddenly at highway speed — and that’s genuinely dangerous. When in doubt, get it inspected.
Do you do lift kits or lowering springs?
We can install most bolt-on suspension upgrades — coilovers, lowering springs, leveling kits. Anything that involves cutting, welding, or major fabrication is outside our scope.
